Vertu, Gresso, Mobiado are among the most expensive phones in the world, but this doesn't necessarily mean that they are also among the best.

However, when it comes to quality of materials and craftmanship these companies are always among the first that come to one's mind.

TAG Heuer is a newcomer in the smartphone business, but the company has a 150-years experience in watchmaking.

For those who never heard of TAG Heuer, this is a division of luxury goods company Louis Vuilton, well-known for its sports watches and chronographs.

As of now, it appears that the company is trying to focus on mobile phones and Android smartphones in particular.

After launching the first branded TAG Heuer mobile phone a while back, the company is now introducing its first smartphone, the Link Phone.

TAG Heuer's first luxury smartphone features and autolock system, outstanding craftmanship, watchmaking finishing and avant-garde technology.

The device looks rather clunky and is made of steel, 18K rose gold, or titanium, and assorted with alligator leather, rubber and diamonds.

Furthermore, the phone is powered by Google's Android 2.2 (Froyo) platform with access to more than 250,000 apps, and offers EDGE / HSUPA connectivity among others.

The Link Phone is delivered with a large 3.5-inch capacitive multi-touch screen display that supports 800 x 480 pixels resolutions.

In addition, the phone sports an average 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, 256 MB of internal memory, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 8GB memory card included).

The phone is powered by a standard 1400 mAh battery, but no information regarding its autonomy has been disclosed yet.

It is also worth mentioning that the Link Phone is supposed to be particularly durable, due to the materials used, but it will also be expensive at €4,700 (about $6,700).
