14 DAY TRIAL // Wireless carrier T-Mobile is hard at work with the launch of a new 4G service in the United States, this time based on LTE technology, complementing its already existing HSPA+ network.
The company has confirmed at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show plans to fire up the LTE network in Las Vegas in a matter of weeks and to continue with an aggressive expansion around the country.
“We’re launching T-Mobile LTE for 100M people by mid-year and 200M people by end of year,” T-Mobile CTO Neville Ray said at CES 2013.
He also claims that third-party tests have showed that the experience T-Mobile’s LTE network was capable to provide was on par with that offered by competitors.
For the time being, however, no specific info on what other markets will receive the service has been provided.
