Today, wireless carrier T-Mobile will host a press event at which it is expected to announce the official availability of its 4G LTE network in a series of markets around the United States, yet it seems that the main focus at the launch will be another one, namely Apple’s iPhone.

The carrier has already confirmed that it would be providing users with the possibility to enjoy access to its 4G LTE service courtesy of two smartphones, namely the Samsung Galaxy Note II and BlackBerry Z10, but it seems that more of them are actually coming to its network.

In fact, a recent article on CNet suggests that the Apple iPhone will be the main dish at today’s event, and that it will be compatible with the carrier’s LTE network right from the start.

Apparently, the smartphone won’t be immediately available for purchase, and no specific details on when it might be put on shelves have been provided, nor on the price tag it might feature.

One thing that is certain, however, is that T-Mobile did confirm a while back that it had planned to launch the iPhone, and that the new report falls in line with that.

T-Mobile’s customers have been asking for the Apple device for quite some time, yet the carrier did not join the iPhone party as all other major operators in the country did, at least not until now.

However, it did offer users the possibility to bring the iPhone to its network, and even supported the move, but it seems that this was not enough for many.

As AllThingD notes, T-Mobile has lost a lot of contract customers lately, and the availability of the Apple iPhone on its network could change that.

For the time being, the wireless carrier hasn’t confirmed details on what will be announced today, but it won’t be long until more info on the matter is unveiled, so stay tuned.
