Last night, South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics announced the release of the US flavors of its high-end Galaxy S II smartphone, but it seems that they did not offer all of the details that were there to show.

Some of the details that remained shrouded in mystery involve the Samsung Galaxy S II model that will soon land at T-Mobile.

The handset was not present on stage at last night's event, supposedly because Samsung is preparing to release it with a series of modifications to the internal circuitry.

Some suggest that the T-Mobile flavor of Galaxy S II will arrive on shelves with a Qualcomm application processor inside, and not with the Samsung Exynos 4210 processor that will be included inside Galaxy S II models that will arrive on shelves at AT&T and Sprint.

The smartphone should include a Qualcomm Snapdragon application processor that will offer support for the 42Mbps speeds that the carrier's network can offer at the moment.

T-Mobile's Galaxy S II smartphone is expected to include a Qualcomm’s MDM8220 modem inside as well, so that it would provide not only increased performance capabilities, but also great data transfer speeds.

At the launch event, Samsung did not offer too many details on the specs of T-Mobile's flavor of the handset, tough they did say it was a dual core.

This suggests that some changes were indeed performed when the specs list of Magenta's smartphone was involved, though it remains to be seen what exactly these are all about.

T-Mobile's announcement on the availability of Galaxy S II on its airwaves did not offer many details on the mobile phone itself either:

T-Mobile USA, Inc. is pleased to announce the upcoming availability of the Samsung Galaxy S II at T-Mobile this fall.

Featuring a brilliant 4.52-inch Super AMOLED Plus touch screen – one of the largest screens available on a Galaxy S II device – T-Mobile’s Galaxy S II promises to keep customers entertained and connected while on the go.

However, the wireless carrier did say that they would be offering additional info on the new handset in the coming weeks, so keep an eye on this space for more details on the matter.
