Samsung Galaxy S II is the latest Android-based high-end device that wireless carrier T-Mobile has made available for purchase for its customers in the United States.

The new device already managed to attract a lot of users on its side, and is expected to appeal to even more of them in the near future.

In the six months that passed since the mobile phone's arrival on the market, Samsung managed to sell a number of over 10 million devices all around the world.

In the United States, the new smartphone has just landed on shelves at Sprint and AT&T, and is now available at T-Mobile as well, with a series of modifications that differentiate it from the other two.

For example, the T-Mobile flavor of the new mobile phone packs a large 4.5-inch screen, unlike the AT&T model that sports the smaller 4.3-inch display, and comes with a Qualcomm application processor inside.

It is still a dual-core chip, but Samsung's SoC was not capable of offering the desired performance on T-Mobile's HSPA+ network, and this CPU will, it seems.

The rest of the specifications of the new device remain the same, including the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system it is based on.

“The Samsung Galaxy S II offers our largest and most beautiful screen in a slim device, and with 4G speeds, it delivers one of the fastest entertainment experiences running on America’s Largest 4G Network,” T-Mobile explains.

The handset packs an 8MP photo snapper with HD video recording, as well as a front camera for video calling, WIFi and Bluetooth capabilities, microSD memory card slot, GPS receiver, and the like.

At T-Mobile, the Samsung Galaxy S II was made available for purchase with a price tag of $229.99 (about 167 Euros) next to it, with the signing of a two-year contract and after a $50 mail-in rebate. You can purchase it from T-Mobile's website here.
