Mobile phone carrier T-Mobile USA is expected to unveil new devices during the CTIA Wireless show in Orlando, Florida, and the already rumored G2x

is as good as confirmed to be one of them.

The mobile phone would be none other than the already launched LG Optimus 2X, the very first smartphone in the world to include a dual core application processor inside, as previous rumors suggested.

While an official confirmation on the possible arrival of this handset at T-Mobile is not available for the time being, some photos with promotional displays at CTIA presenting the device emerged into the wild, providing the necessary proof that a formal unveiling is near.

As these shots show, T-Mobile is getting ready to announce the upcoming availability of this smartphone on its airwaves under the name of G2x, which would make it a great pair for the carrier's G-Slate.

Both devices would run under Android, both being made by LG, with the G-Slate being the carrier's first tablet PC to sport 3D capabilities.

LG's Optimus 2X was launched in December last year as the first handset in the world to include an Nvidia Tegra 2 application processor inside, and was already put on shelves in various markets around the world.

Since its unveiling, many other dual-core devices were made official, including some that pair this feature with 3D capabilities, but the handset still seems impressive.

The yet unannounced T-Mobile G2x should include about the same specifications as the already available device, including the 4-inch WVGA display, along with 8GB of internal storage.

It would also come on the market with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with 1080p video recording capabilities, complemented by a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calling.

With CTIA set to kick off tomorrow, we should not be surprised if T-Mobile and LG would make the official announcement on this device in the next several hours, so keep an eye on this space for more details on this unveiling.

In the meantime, have a look at the photos available with the G2x promotional displays courtesy of Engadget and Pocketnow.
