T-Mobile USA has just announced its myTouch 4G and myTouch 4G Slide Android smartphone will be receiving minor software updates this week.

According to the carrier, starting March 15, myTouch 4G owners will start getting a small update OTA (over the air). After accepting and installing it, the software of the smartphone will be updated to version 2.19.531.1.

Software version 2.19.531.1 is deployed on a rolling basis until all myTouch 4G owners get it. Soon after this update, a second maintenance update will be available for download, either OTA or through manual download.

The carrier confirmed it would roll out software update 2.32.531.1 OTA (over the air) to all myTouch 4G devices from March 15 through April 15. The update is deployed in waves, so users may have to wait a bit until they get it.

However, users can also manually download the update by going to Settings / About phone / HTC software updates / Check now. The update should be available for download, so simply follow the on-screen prompts to successfully install it.

The following changes have been added with the latest update Android version 2.3.4 (software version 2.32.531.1): Google security update, new version of Swype, software improvements.

T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide will get another maintenance update starting March 19. The carrier will deploy the update OTA (over the air) until April 19.

Manually downloading this update is a valid option as well. Simply head over to Settings / About phone / HTC software updates / Check now, and the update should appear in a matter of seconds.

The latest Android version 2.3.4 (software version 1.55.531.3) update brings the following changes: Google security fix, improvements to Wi-Fi Calling, improvements to Genius Button and to Netflix app experience.

Make sure to have your phone’s battery charged more than 50% before attempting to run the updates.
