On Monday, wireless carrier T-Mobile USA, Inc. announced a new handset added to its T-Mobile myTouch 3G lineup of smartphones running under Google's Android operating system, namely the T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slider. According to the company, the new mobile phone is set to become available for purchase in June, bringing to the table a spacious QWERTY keyboard, a great touchscreen display, and the latest Android software. T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide was designed with communication in mind, boasting features that enable users to connect more easily with friends and family.

“Many smartphones are increasingly powerful in their features and specifications without continuing to improve the main reason that so many people have mobile phones — the ability to communicate with each other,” said Andrew Sherrard, vice president of product development, T-Mobile USA. “The new myTouch 3G Slide is a smart and sleek phone that fits into your pocket, your budget and your family life with exclusive T-Mobile features that put communication with your closest family and friends front and center.”

The new T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide comes to the market with a series of features that are exclusively available for its users. Among them, we can count the Faves Gallery, which presents up to 20 favorite people and the manners in which one can communicate with them; myModes, through which one can create different themes for work and home, which can be switched at a designated time or manually; and the Genius Button, powered by Dragon Dictation from Nuance Communications, through which one can control the device using voice commands.

myTouch 3G Slide runs under the Android 2.1 operating system and offers a rich mobile Web experience, coupled with access to the Android Market, where users will find a thousand of apps available for download. The phone has been designed exclusively for T-Mobile, sporting a 3.4-inch HVGA touch-screen display, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and a 5-megapixel photo snapper. The handset also includes a pre-installed 8GB microSD memory card, Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity, e-mail, MMS capabilities, and the possibility to easily upload photos and videos on sites like YouTube and Picasa. It should land at the carrier in three color versions, namely black, white and red.
