Wireless carrier T-Mobile has recently announced that it will make available for purchase a T-Mobile myTouch 3G Fender Limited Edition starting January 20, in collaboration with legendary musician and Fender guitarist Eric Clapton. According to the company, the new device will come as part of the myTouch 3G marketing campaign, and Clapton will showcase a personalized myTouch 3G Fender Limited Edition in a TV ad that will start being aired on January 20.

The new T-Mobile myTouch 3G Fender Limited Edition comes with a taste of rock-and-roll added to the original device, providing users with a unique mobile music experience. It will come to the shelves with a series of classic titles from Clapton, including “Layla,” “My Father’s Eyes,” “Rock ‘N’ Roll Heart,” and “Wonderful Tonight.” Additionally, the carrier also announced that it was the supporter of Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival.

The new device comes with a Fender guitar sunburst-finish inspired design. It includes a 16GB microSD memory card so that users can carry a large amount of songs or videos with them, and it sports a 3.5mm headset jack and an enhanced music player. It seems that users will enjoy a new experience from the music player too, as it offers them the possibility to change views or songs through simply touching the album art. Not to mention that users will have the possibility to create ringtones from the songs that are being played.

“In a modern culture that forms an essential bond between music, mobile devices and one’s individual lifestyle, Fender is very proud to partner with T-Mobile on the exclusive new T-Mobile myTouch 3G Fender Limited Edition,” said Mark Van Vleet, senior vice president of Business Affairs with Fender Musical Instruments. “This is an exciting and innovative way to connect people to their passion for great music wherever they go, and we are thrilled to share this news with our customers and fans.”

The new mobile phone will also include popular Android Market applications, Guitar: Solo and Music Light. In addition, there will be songs from Avril Lavigne, Brad Paisley and Wyclef Jean, which will accompany the preloaded Clapton tracks. A wide range of customization features will be available via new accessories, including Fender-branded shells, a Fender carrying case, or a docking station equipped with speakers, dubbed Rock Dock. The final touch on the new device will be Android 2.1, which T-Mobile says that will come for it in spring.
