T-Mobile USA have announced that they will launch the first cell phone in the US that has Windows Mobile 6 installed. With this, Microsoft scores an important point in the competition against other operating system providers.

The device that will come with Windows Mobile 6 already installed is T-Mobile's Wing. It is an attractive smartphone, with an impressive 2.8 inch touchscreen display. It proves to be quite useful, as it can connect to the Wi-Fi network for providing information at a fast rate.

T-Mobile promises that switching to Windows Mobile will provide more reliable e-mail delivery, which allows adding images and graphics and can also be set up as to instantly connect to Windows Live Hotmail. Furthermore, it offers better roaming and browsing performance, as well as easier device management. Instant messaging programs and Web search considerably enhance information access.

The software also includes extremely useful features. For example, if the mobile phone is lost or gets stolen, the user can have all the information on it immediately erased through an Outlook account, with no further bothers.

T-Mobile has already made Windows Mobile 6 available for its users for several months now. Still, this is the first smartphone to come installed with it. Until now, an upgrade was available for download in the case of T-Mobile Dash. The problem with it was that the user had to completely erase the OS system and, with it, all the data. It proved highly inconvenient, which drove the basis for pre-installing Windows on the smartphones that are sold.

The Wing phone model is only the first smartphone to come with Windows Mobile installed. More such releases are expected in the future on the USA mobile phone market. Not only that, but T-Mobile Dash will also be available with the Windows Mobile system pre-installed starting June, this year.
