Shortly after Google and LG unveiled the Nexus 5, several carriers announced they would offer the smartphone in the coming weeks/months.

One of the first to confirm the upcoming availability of the LG Nexus 5 was T-Mobile USA. Unfortunately, the Magenta carrier did not offer any additional details on release date and pricing options.

However, it did confirm the smartphone would be available through its official retail channels just “in time for the holidays.”

“In the coming weeks, customers will be able to purchase the Nexus 5 at an affordable price with T-Mobile's Simple Choice Plan or, when eligible, upgrade through its JUMP! program at participating T-Mobile retail stores, select dealers and online,” said T-Mobile in an official statement.

LG Nexus 5 is the first smartphone to ship with Android 4.4 KitKat operating system out of the box. The device was put on sale earlier today in various countries, but it sold out in under 30 minutes in most regions.

Google announced the smartphone was available in two versions, 16GB and 32GB. The former is available for purchase on Google Play Store for only $350 (€255), while the latter costs $400 (€290) outright.

All specs announced by Google match the information leaked in the last couple of weeks, so there's nothing really surprising.

The Nexus 5 is equipped with a fast 2.26 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

As mentioned earlier, it comes with either 16GB and 32GB internal memory, but the real downside is the lack of microSD memory card that would allow users to further expand storage.

Other highlights of the phone include an enhanced 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with OIS (optical image stabilization), a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, and 4.95-inch full HD (1080p) IPS capacitive touchscreen display.
