The transaction is subject to approval and other closing conditions

Leap Wireless and T-Mobile USA have just announced they have entered a partnership to exchange wireless spectrum in select markets.

Although the transaction is still subject to approval, it’s clear that the deal would result in Leap grabbing the 10 MHz of additional AWS spectrum in the following markets: Phoenix, AZ and Houston, Galveston and Bryan-College Station, TX.

In return, T-Mobile USA will receive spectrum in various markets in Alabama, Illinois, Missouri, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

It is also worth mentioning that the agreement also includes exchanges between Leap, T-Mobile and Cook Inlet, in Philadelphia, Wilmington, Atlantic City and various markets in Texas and New Mexico, and between Leap and Cook Inlet in certain markets in Texas.

For the time being, no financial details have been disclosed, but more info will be revealed as soon as the transaction is approved.
