In February, HTC and T-Mobile USA confirmed the upcoming release of the One S Android smartphone. However, the carrier has yet to reveal the exact launch date and pricing options.

Several internal documents leaked online suggested that the HTC One S might be released at T-Mobile USA on April 25. This seems to be accurate as the carrier has already started to hand out press invites for an HTC One S event, which is set to be held on April 18.

According to these invites, those who attend this event will be amongst the first to experience the HTC One S, which means that the smartphone won’t be released on the market right away.

It’s likely that T-Mobile USA will offer the media a chance to have a glimpse at the next-generation HTC One S Android device before the smartphone hits shelves after a week.

On April 18, the carrier is also expected to announce the exact release date and pricing options for the HTC One S.

Unveiled back in February at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the One S is positioned in the mid-range category when it comes to hardware configuration.

Even though the One S is powered by a dual-core Krait processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, the One X, which was announced at the same time, comes equipped with a much better quad-core Nvidia Tegre 3 CPU clocked at 1.5 GHz.

There’s been much talk around the performance of the two processors powering the smartphones, but neither side has been victorious for the time being.

Anyway, the HTC One S comes with more powerful features that might attract customers, including a vibrant 4.3-inch Super AMOLED qHD capacitive display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution and sports Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

There’s also an impressive 8-megapixel rear camera that features autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, as well as a VGA front-facing camera for video calls.
