The same day when it launched the entry-level Nokia 1680, T-Mobile USA also released a brand new Motorola phone, namely the MOTOACTV W450. While the Nokia candybar is sold for 14 USD, the Motorola handset is a bit more expensive, coming at 24 USD, with a contract agreement for two years.

MOTOACTV W450 is offered in two color versions, Mandarin Orange and Canary Yellow, being targeted at users with active lives. The W450 is a clamshell dressed in a “rubberized external coating,” which makes it easy to grip.

The features of MOTOACTV W450 are quad-band GSM connectivity (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz), stereo Bluetooth, Music player, email, Mayo Clinic In Touch software, CrystalTalk technology for a good audio experience, speakerphone and microSD card support (up to 2GB). There's also a 1.3 Megapixel camera with video recording and 8x digital zoom, for the moments when you have no better camera at hand.

Motorola W450 weighs 96 grams (3.4 ounces) and, when not flipped, measures 99 x 46 x 17.8 millimeters (3.9 x 1.8 x 0.7 inches). The phone's battery, although only a 850 mAh one, is presented as powerful enough to last up to 7.5 hours in talk-time mode or up to 10 days in stand-by mode.

Talking about the new handset, Vice President of Sales at Motorola Mobile Devices, Dennis Burke, said, “The MOTOACTV W450 is designed to meet the needs of today's mobile consumers, from the great outdoors to the corporate jungle. With its sturdy exterior and feature-packed interior, this device will quickly become the phone of choice for people with an active lifestyle.

As (almost) always, you'll be able to find the new Moto clamshell both in T-Mobile's US stores and on its official website – at this address if you want the Mandarin Orange version, and at this address if you fancy the Canary Yellow one more.
