As expected, T-Mobile USA has just introduced yet another messaging phone, the Samsung Gravity TXT.

Leaked two weeks ago, the phone is aimed at heavy texting youngsters and is now available for only $9.99 with a new two-year agreement.

However, it looks like the phone is not that important for T-Mobile USA to make an official announcement, instead, the carrier tweeted the Gravity TXT availability:

The newest member of T-Mobile’s Gravity family, the Samsung Gravity TXT messaging phone, is now available today!”

The main trait that makes the Gravity TXT a messaging phone, its slide-out QWERTY keyboard, allows users to type faster and more convenient while on the move.

In addition, the feature-phone comes preloaded with Social Buzz app with dedicated access key, which brings users all the messaging and social networking options they need to stay connected with their family and friends via Twitter, Facebook and MySpace.

The Gravity TXT is advertised as “an inexpensive feature-phone primarily designed for teens and heavy text message users. It strikes a great balance between affordability and usability with features like the ones listed below.”

Aside its 4-row QWERTY keyboard that makes it a messaging phone, the Gravity TXT offers only the basic features of a phone.

It sports a sub-par 2-megapixel camera with video recording capabilities, a built-in GPS receiver, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 16GB) and Bluetooth connectivity.

3G support up to 7.2Mbps, Microsoft ActiveSync for e-mail is included as well, along with music player, alarm clock, calendar, calculator and threaded messaging functionality.

Samsung Gravity TXT measures 112 x 53 x 14mm and weighs only 112g (battery included).

According to the manufacturer, the phone's 1,000 mAh Li-Ion battery should provide up to 4 hours of talk time or up to 300 hours of standby time.
