The carrier announces it has no plans, at this time, to offer the update for Lumia 710

Microsoft and Nokia started the rollout of Windows Phone 7.8 update last week, but some smartphones have been skipped.

Although we thought the upgrade will reach all Windows Phone 7.5 devices in the end, it appears that some carriers have chosen not to offer the Windows Phone 7.8 update at all.

Nokia stated last week that T-Mobile USA was among those carriers that would not offer Lumia 710 owners the long-awaited update.

Unfortunately, the folks over at TmoNews were able to confirm the same thing with T-Mobile USA, so it appears the Lumia 710 will not get the Windows Phone 7.8 upgrade after all:

“At this time, the Nokia Lumia 710 will not receive the software update. T-Mobile is committed to enhancing customers’ experience with our devices, including providing upgrades to the latest operating systems, and T-Mobile aims to deliver software upgrades when it will provide a better experience for our customers. We’ll share additional information on upgrades for the Nokia Lumia 710 when they are available.”
