Even though most Android fans who own Motorola DEFY smartphone purchased in the UK have already updated their devices to Froyo, there is still a small community that has been left out.

Those who have been unfortunate to purchase a Motorola DEFY from T-Mobile UK are still stuck on Android 2.1 Eclair.

However, this will change soon as the carrier has recently announced that it will start rolling out the Android 2.2 (Froyo) update at the start of July.

The announcement was made via Twitter and does not include a certain release date, but it is a common fact that these updates are deployed gradually, so the process could start this weekend and be completed next week.

Good news to all our Motorola Defy wielding customers, Android 2.2 (Froyo) will start rolling out at the start of July. :-)”

In addition, users will be able to search for certain phone numbers and contacts from the dialer screen by simply entering the first few letters of the contact’s name or the first few digits of the contact’s number.
