Mobile phone users in the United States interested in the purchase of a Windows Phone 8.1 smartphone can now head over to T-Mobile’s online portal to have a look at the offer the wireless operator has on the Nokia Lumia 635 smartphone.

The handset, officially confirmed for this mobile phone carrier a few weeks ago, is now available for purchase via the company’s online store, with a price tag of $168 (€123) attached to it, contract-free.

However, users can also grab it for $0 upfront when going for one of the wireless carrier’s contracts, while having to pay $7 per month for the smartphone for the next 24 months.

Made official in April this year, the Nokia Lumia 635 is the cheapest Windows Phone 8.1 smartphone to also boast 4G LTE connectivity.

The smartphone arrives on shelves with entry-level hardware inside, but it will be able to provide users with an appealing experience, courtesy of the various enhancements that the new Windows Phone 8.1 operating system was launched with.

“Transform your life with a Windows Phone experience uniquely personalized for you,” the wireless carrier notes on its website.

“While Live Tiles display the latest social posts, news, and more, Cortana, your personal virtual assistant, tracks it all to provide you with reminders and recommendations that help you stay on top of your life. From Start to search, the Lumia 635 is all about you.”

The Nokia Lumia 635 hits the market with a 4.5-inch touchscreen display, while being powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor.

Moreover, the mobile phone features 512MB of RAM, along with 8GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 128GB of additional storage space.

On the back, the handset sports a 5-megapixel camera, which should be able to record videos in HD resolution.

As mentioned above, Nokia Lumia 635 also arrives on shelves with 4G LTE connectivity, as well as with the usual 3G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth capabilities. A built-in GPS receiver for navigation purposes is also available inside the smartphone.

The specs list of this device also includes a battery capable of delivering up to 11.3 hours of talk time or up to 19.7 days of standby time, and M3 & T3 hearing aid compatibility.

The Windows Phone 8.1 OS loaded on top of Lumia 635 can offer features such as a Notifications Center, Start screen backgrounds, and Cortana, the digital personal assistant, in addition to providing users with access to a nice range of applications via the Windows Phone Store.
