After it was pulled off the market due to battery problems

Released at the beginning of November 2007, T-Mobile Sidekick Slide was recalled after about two weeks from launching, due to a battery problem that caused the phone to restart or shut-down unexpectedly.

Unlike the other Sidekick devices from T-Mobile (created by Sharp), Sidekick Slide is manufactured by Motorola and it's the only one that had functionality problems until now. Customers who bought it and found the issue had tow options: exchange the phone for a Sidekick LX (no extra charges) or return it and use its original value to buy another handset.

It seems that everything was fixed, as we can see the Sidekick Slide handset back on the T-Mobile website. As on the initial release, the phone has a suggested retail price of $299, but it can be bought for just $199 with a two-year T-Mobile contract. And, as of now, without any functionality issue. Hopefully, we will not witness scenes like those when someone orders a hot-dog but doesn't want mustard: "Yes, I'd like a Sidekick Slide with a two-year agreement, hold the battery problem, please".

If we look at the device's features - and we do - we discover that the Sidekick Slide is created to satisfy users' communication needs. The phone packs a full QWERTY keypad and a big screen, thus being a good choice for those in need of mobile e-mail, blogging, instant messaging and Internet browsing. Furthermore, T-Mobile Sidekick Slide offers a music player (MP3, WMA, and ACC supported), Bluetooth connectivity, picture messaging, speaker phone and microSd card support. Sidekick Slide's 1130mAh Li-ion battery can provide a talk time of up to 5 hours and a stand-by time of 3 days. Among the accessories included there is a carry case, USB cable and hands-free headset. Too bad its camera is only a 1.3 Megapixel one, otherwise the handset would have been really great.
