Since the first generation (and in some cases the second one) of tablets has been around for a while, updates to their operating systems are now getting sent out, LG's G-Slate being the latest one to get landed with this benefit, courtesy of T-Mobile.
By now, the tablet segment has established itself as a palpable and growing part of the IT industry, not in small part due to the Android OS and strong ARM chips.
The G-Slate. Developed by LG, is one of the tablets that merge these two assets (it has the Android 3.0 OS).
Then again, it would be more accurate to say that the LG G-Slate had Android 3.0 until recently, when the update started rolling out.
As revealed by T-Mobile, owners of the device should have begun to see their products getting updated starting yesterday (August 11).
Needless to say, this is good news, especially with certain rival products
failing to carry out this maneuver, at least in some regions.
There are several main advantages to the newer operating system, not the least of which is the added support for USB accessories (keyboards, gamepads, pointing devices, etc.).
Apparently, as could be expected, the update fixes a number of bugs and thrown some enhancements on top of everything (can force close Google Talk and Misic, browser widgets are more responsive, and so on).
Also, the widgets can be resized on the home screen, at least those built into the Android 3.0 OS itself (E-mail, G-mail, calendar, etc.).
Furthermore, the recent apps list has been expanded and the Google Videos app has been added, enabling the rental and buying of movies.
Users that want a direct look at what the G-Slate's OTA Update includes need only drop by

this list of steps should prove useful.
