Mobile phone users in the United States can now enjoy a new version of T-Mobile's popular myTouch 3G handset on the airwaves of the carrier, namely the myTouch 3G Fender Limited Edition. The phone was announced a few days ago, and it comes as a music-oriented flavor of the original handset, while being loaded with a series of popular songs from Eric Clapton and other singers.

According to the operator, the new T-Mobile myTouch 3G Fender Limited Edition is “a music lover's phone. Created with a classic Fender sunburst-inspired design, a 16GB media card to hold thousands of songs, a 3.5mm audio jack, and preloaded with music from Eric Clapton and more.” The price tag for the new device has been set at $179.99 upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement on the Even More plan, but it can also be purchased with an Even More Plus plan, case in which it will cost $449.99.

Apart from the new music features that have been added to the phone, it also comes with a new look, but it is basically the same device as the original myTouch 3G. It sports a touchscreen display, a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper with video recording capabilities, Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity, Bluetooth, built-in GPS receiver, soft QWERTY keyboard, email, SMS, MMS, IM and video messaging features, access to the Android Market, and offers a great deal of customization options via wallpapers, icons, widgets, apps, ringtones and full suite of accessories.

In addition, the new T-Mobile myTouch 3G Fender Limited Edition has been said to be only one of the new versions of the handset that the wireless carrier plans on bringing to the market in the first quarter of the ongoing year. Some of the previous rumors suggested as well that a revamped myTouch 3G might also be in the works, and that it would bring forth a 3.5 mm headphone jack, something that the original device and the new Limited Edition lack. You can purchase the myTouch 3G Fender from T-Mobile's website here.
