14 DAY TRIAL // Today, wireless carrier T-Mobile USA and Norwegian software company Opera announced officially that the Opera Mini mobile browser will come on a series of mobile phones on T-Mobile USA's network. Opera Mini, currently the most popular mobile browser on the market, was made available for download for a number of no less than eight feature-phone models currently on sale at the United States wireless carrier.
The mobile solution comes with an easy-to-use interface, offering T-Mobile customers the possibility to enjoy fast web browsing, so that their experience while on the go is as close as possible to the experience they receive while navigating the Internet on their desktop PCs.
“Consumer mobile web use is skyrocketing in the United States,” said Roy Satterthwaite, Opera’s SVP for Sales and Marketing, Americas.
“Opera Mini satisfies this consumer demand by delivering the fastest browsing experience possible along with a superior user interface, to enable a smartphone-like user experience on T-Mobile USA feature phones.”
Not to mention that the mobile browser comes with a unique compression technology, designed to shrink web pages by as much as 90 percent before sending them to the handset.
According to Opera, this results in “blazing fast surfing even for phones on 2.5G or EDGE networks.”
“These and many other reasons make Opera Mini the browser of choice to 71.2 million people worldwide,” the software giant added.
Opera Mini managed to pass the 71 million users mark back in September, proving that it indeed is the most popular software solution of the kind in the world.
The list of handsets on which Opera Mini is now available for download at T-Mobile USA include: Nokia 2330, Nokia 2720, Nokia 3711, Nokia 5130, Sony Ericsson Equinox, Samsung T239, Samsung T659 and Nokia E73 Mode.
According to the two companies, the software solution is available for download for the owners of these devices from m.opera.com straight from the browser on their phones.
