Huawei says it is working on the update

The Android 2.1 flavor, which became official at the beginning of the ongoing year on the Nexus One by HTC sold via Google's own web store, is now set to make an appearance on yet another handset on the market. The phone in question is the T-Mobile Pulse from Huawei, available for purchase in the UK for quite some time now, and which is expected to taste the Android 2.1 in the following few months.

[ADMARk=1]It seems that some Android enthusiasts already contacted the handset's maker on the matter, and were informed that an Android 2.1 update for the T-Mobile Pulse is in preparation. The Chinese mobile phone maker aims at providing its users with the latest flavor of the Android operating system, and that should happen before April is here, it seems. Here's what Huawei reportedly answered to questions regarding the Android 2.1 platform on Pulse:

We are planning to develop the ROM 2.0 and 2.1, the ROM 2.0 may be released before April and at the same time we need to get approval from T-Mobile.

Customers can get this information from the T-Mobile website when the new firmware is released and approved by T-Mobile.

Many thanks. Huawei support

The answer is as straightforward as it can be. However, the big question that is still unanswered is whether T-Mobile will also approve and deliver the update to users. The carrier has discontinued the Pulse, androidandme reports, so the owners of a T-Mobile Pulse have all the reasons to be worried that it won't deliver the new OS flavor to them.

However, the Pulse is said to be similar in specs with the highly popular HTC Magic and Hero (at least when it comes to its processor and ROM), which will receive the Android 2.1 blessing, so it has all the chances to receive the update to the new flavor in the end. However, until an official announcement comes from T-Mobile, nothing can be said for sure.
