Today, mobile phone carrier T-Mobile USA went official with a series of new Android-based handsets on its airwaves, set to become available on November 3rd, including the T-Mobile Comet, LG Optimus T with Google, and Motorola DEFY. All three devices will be priced under $100.

The affordable and appealing Android mobile phones on T-Mobile's lineup are meant to fit the needs of all family members, the wireless carrier announced.

The new smartphones are meant to offer access to the mobile Web while on the go, while also providing fast access to Google services such as Google Maps, Gmail, or YouTube, or to the Android Market, where users will find thousands of applications available for download.

These Android-based devices are available for purchase for less than $100 on qualifying plans, with two-year contract agreements.

“We’re heading into this holiday season with our strongest and most affordable lineup ever of Android-powered smartphones,” said Cole Brodman, chief marketing officer, T-Mobile USA.

“Combine that with low-cost data service plans and even easier ways to give T-Mobile products as gifts, and we believe families will make the move to smartphones -- enriching how they communicate in the new year.”

T-Mobile Comet comes with a 2.8-inch touchscreen display and a 3.2 megapixel camera, along with a compact form factor and a 528 MHz processor inside.

LG Optimus T sports a 3.2-inch full touch screen display and a 3.2 megapixel camera, as well as a 600 MHz processor and a customizable homescreen.

Motorola DEFY packs a cratch- and water-resistant, as well as dust-proof form factor, while still offering a 3.7-inch full touchscreen display, a 5-megapixel camera, a 800 MHz processor, and the MOTOBLUR software solution on top of Google's Android OS.

And there is also the Motorola CHARM with MOTOBLUR, with a full QWERTY keyboard and a 2.8-inch touch screen in a candybar form factor.

According to the wireless carrier, the new T-Mobile Comet, LG Optimus T and Motorola DEFY devices are set to become available for its users come November 3rd on its website.
