Wireless carrier T-Mobile is looking into attracting more users with unlocked iPhone devices to its network, which already connects over one million Apple handsets.

The company has been long touting the features that its affordable Value plans have to offer to all customers who want to purchase their devices separately from a monthly plan, and it is currently pushing the offering one step forward.

Starting with September 12, the company will provide users with the possibility to learn more on how they can connect their compatible iPhone devices to its network.

iPhone 4 demo units will be sent out to stores around the country for that, while iOS-specific versions of popular T-Mobile apps will come soon to the iPhone as well, including T-Mobile myAccount, T-Mobile Visual Voicemail and T-Mobile TV.

Additionally, the company will start testing incentive offers in select markets, while also marketing the benefits that users can take advantage of when bringing their unlocked iPhone devices to the T-Mobile network.

Some of these include:

- Unlimited data: T-Mobile offers worry-free, unlimited nationwide data.

- Cost Savings: Customers with unlocked iPhones can save $50/month compared to AT&T.

- Nationwide coverage that’s only getting better: T-Mobile’s voice network reaches 96% of all Americans, and later this year, as we transform our network, introducing 4G (HSPA+) service in our iPhone-compatible spectrum, these unlocked iPhones will get a significant speed boost where these improvements are available.

The company has already started to fire up 4G HSPA+ service on the 1900 MHz spectrum, so that its network would work better with the Apple device.

“With sites already live in cities like Seattle, Las Vegas, Washington DC and the New York metro area, don’t be surprised to hear reports of iPhone ‘speed sightings.’ We expect to have these improvements deployed in a large number of markets later this year,” T-Mobile notes.

The wireless carrier notes that its testing of unlocked iPhone 4S devices running over 4G (HSPA+) on the 1900MHz spectrum has showed 70 percent faster performance when compared to the same handsets running on AT&T’s network.

“Today, we don’t sell the iPhone, but we do have something worth selling to people who have one. Our message to iPhone customers is simple: bring your unlocked iPhone to T-Mobile and save,” the wireless operator concluded.
