Just as expected, mobile phone carrier T-Mobile USA went official with the T-Mobile G2x, an Android-based smartphone made by LG, which comes with support for its 4G Network.

This is the latest device included in the company's G-series devices, and packs an NVIDIA Tegra 2 mobile processor with dual-core CPU, along with a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen display, for an enhanced mobile experience.

The mobile phone carrier did not announce a specific release date for this smartphone, but it should not be too long before it becomes available for purchase in the United States.

We should mention that this is T-Mobile's own flavor of LG Optimus 2X, which was announced in December last year.

“More consumers than ever are turning to their smartphones to stay entertained wherever they are with access to their favorite video games, TV programs and more,” said Andrew Sherrard, senior vice president, marketing, T-Mobile USA.

“By combining the latest innovative hardware and pre-loaded content with our 4G network and the power of the dual core processor, the G2x offers the mobile gaming and entertainment experience our customers crave.”

The specifications list of the new device would include a 1GHz dual-core processor, support for T-Mobile’s lightning-fast 4G network, or 8GB of internal memory, and a microSD card slot with support for up to 32GB of expandable memory.

Moreover, the new device would arrive on shelves with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with LED flash, auto focus, and 1080p high-definition (HD) video recording, as well as a front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera for video calling on T-Mobile Video Chat application powered by Qik.

Other specs of the new handset would include DLNA compatibility, HDMI mirroring, Bluetooth 2.1, 3.5mm headphone jack, GPS receiver, or the Android 2.2 platform with support for Adobe Flash Player.

The mobile phone would also include support for various Google Mobile Services, including Google Voice, Voice Actions from Google, Google Goggles, Google Search, Gmail, Google Maps with Places and Navigation, YouTube, Google Talk, Google Earth and more.

According to T-Mobile, users would also enjoy pre-loaded content on this handset, including games and applications like:
