T-Mobile USA has announced today the availability of its 3G services in the "entertainment capital of world" - which is, of course, Las Vegas. Thus, T-Mobile subscribers from the city of lights and casinos can now enjoy 3G speeds on their compatible phones.

T-Mo said that it had invested slightly over $37.5 million in order to roll out the Las Vegas 3G network, and that it would continue to invest money to bring the next-generation technology to more cities and areas from across the US. At the beginning of 2009, at least 20 new US markets should benefit from the speeds of T-Mobile's 3G network.

"Customers in Las Vegas are already accustomed to reliable and robust service from T-Mobile, which gets even better with this additional network availability. This investment in today's 3G network also sets the foundation to help customers stay closer to their family and friends in new and exciting ways," declared Neville Ray, senior vice president, engineering operations, T-Mobile USA.

Besides expanding its 3G network, T-Mobile will also come with new 3G phones. For example, the carrier stated that its first HSDPA handset would become available pretty soon, although it did not let out more details about it. As far as we know, the handset might be Sony Ericsson TM506, a clamshell codenamed Sony Ericsson Bella and approved by the FCC back in June. Sure, the fourth largest US carrier might have had a different device in mind (it could even be the BlackBerry Bold), so it's best if we wait for its official unveiling.

For the time being, T-Mobile's line-up of 3G handsets includes only a few devices, which are not too advanced anyway - Nokia 3555 and Samsung T819 are among them. However, the future seems to bring only good things for T-Mobile subscribers and, with a fully functional nationwide 3G network, the carrier will surely expand its mobile offering with new and cool handsets.
