Wireless carrier T-Mobile is reportedly getting ready to deliver Android 2.0 updates to the handsets available on its airwaves with Google's operating system on board. It seems that the mobile phone operator and the search engine-based company have already started the work on offering the Android 2.0 OS to users, yet there are no exact details on when the update comes.

A recent post on AndroidAndMe shows some pieces of an email from the wireless carrier regarding the Eclair flavor of Google's OS, “T-Mobile is coordinating with Google to deliver Android 2.0. We will let you know when we have more details to share.” This means indeed that the new platform version is heading towards T-Mobile's users, yet no other details have been unveiled at the moment.

Moreover, it seems that things are rather uncertain when it comes to putting together Android 2.0 and the recently launched Motorola CLIQ, “The CLIQ ships with Android 1.5 software. We have no announcements at this time regarding new Android software updates. For more information about future updates to CLIQ and MOTOBLUR, it would be best to contact Motorola PR,” is what T-Mobile stated.

According to AndroidAndMe, the rumors on Motorola CLIQ would be that Android 2.0 is the flavor that will come to the phone, and that Android 1.6 will not see the device. In other words, Motorola seems set to follow the same road with CLIQ, as HTC announced it would follow with its Hero. No Donut for these devices, but a sweeter desert, Eclair.

Returning to the rest of T-Mobile's Android handsets, there are no official details on whether G1 (HTC Dream) will actually receive the update to Android 2.0, although the phone has been spotted running the new platform version not too long ago. Hopefully, Eclair will come to this handset too, for there are certainly a wide range of users eagerly waiting for it. Stay tuned for more updates on this matter.
