Wireless carrier T-Mobile is reportedly gearing up to launch more than one Android-based mobile phone on June 2, as Garmin's first T-Mobile-bound phone, the Garminfone, should arrive on the market that very day, in addition to the already announced T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide. Previously, the wireless services provider announced that the new device would arrive on its airwaves in June, but did not offer an exact date for its launch.

The T-Mobile Garminfone was previously announced to sport a price tag of $199.99 upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the carrier. Powered by Google's Android operating system, the new device is expected to be capable of offering an enhanced turn-by-turn experience, most probably one of the best available on an Android handset to date.

The specifications list of the upcoming device includes a large 3.5-inch touchscreen display, coupled with 3G connectivity options, 3-megapixel photo snapper that sports auto focus and geo-tagging capabilities, Wi-Fi connectivity, mobile Web browser with pinch and zoom capabilities, text-to-speech functionality, and, of course, the great navigation capabilities that Garmin has packed inside this baby.

The features powered by GPS are not the only capabilities the T-Mobile Garminfone brings to the market, as the company also focused on including popular smartphone capabilities too, such as support for social networking sites, Microsoft Exchange e-mail, contacts and calendar, not to mention support for Google services like Google Search by voice, Google Maps, and YouTube.

A music player is present in the package as well, along with instant messaging features, access to personal and corporate email accounts, and support for a wide range of applications that can be easily downloaded from the Android Market. The T-Mobile Garminfone seems almost confirmed to arrive at T-Mobile on June 2, yet nothing is official as of yet. One way or the other, more info on when it is released should emerge shortly, so stay tuned for additional details on the matter.
