The American twin brother of the Optimus 2X, the G2x is now available for purchase online from T-Mobile's web store

The phone's suggested retail price is $499.99, but customers can get it for only $199.99 by signing a new 2-year agreement and after a $50 mail in rebate.

In addition, potential customers require the Even More Talk + Text + Web plan or a Web service of at least $30 per month.

Powered by Android 2.2 Froyo and scheduled to receive a software update to Gingerbread platform in the near future, T-Mobile G2x is meant to deliver its users the ultimate entertainment experience through gaming, web browsing and mobile TV.

To be able to do all of these, LG embedded a dual-core 1GHz Tegra 2 processor, which is complemented by a ULP GeForce GPU (graphical processing unit).

Playing the latest games, like N.O.V.A. and Need for Speed Shift, with rich 3D graphics, won't be an issue for users of the G2x handset, thanks to the powerful hardware.

Furthermore, the phone boasts an extra-large 4.3-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors, 480 x 800 pixels resolution, accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, proximity sensor for auto turn-off, as well as Gyro sensor for smooth gaming.

The most important trait of the G2x is the full support for T-Mobile's 4G HSPA+ network that is capable of delivering up to 21 Mbps download speeds.

To make the device more appealing, LG gifted it with an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash, face and smile detection, as well as secondary 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calling. Additionally, the main camera is able to capture 1080p@24fps and 720p@30fps videos.

Although T-Mobile G2x is only available online for the moment, the phone is expected to hit store shelves on April 20th, provided that the carrier doesn't push back the release date in the meantime.
