The lucky day when T-Mobile USA's users would be able to purchase the first smartphopne with HSPA+ connectivity is nearing fast, and the said device, none other than the T-Mobile G2, has just made a live appearance and got caught on a series of photos. Although T-Mobile made the handset's name official via a teaser site, we had no idea until now what it would look like, but the mystery is solved: the T-Mobile G2 should be a side-sliding touchscreen device.

Running under Google's Android operating system, the handset should prove a great successor of the already phased out T-Mobile G1, the first ever Android-based mobile phone.

According to the guys over at Engadget, who came up with the photos attached to this article, users should expect for the phone to boast a 3.7-inch touchscreen display that should go pretty well with that sliding QWERTY keyboard mentioned above.

Moreover, it seems that the photos with this device are also meant to confirm something that was already rumored, namely that the phone is a version of the upcoming HTC Vision, which emerged in Europe in Vodafone's systems.

All in all, the upcoming HSPA+ smartphone should prove a much nicer addition to T-Mobile's offering than the the myTouch 3G Slide was, with expanded capabilities and support for faster download speeds on the carrier's network.

There are no official details available on when the handset would actually become available for purchase, but chances are that next month would be the lucky time frame.

According to TmoNews, September 29th should be announced as the official release date for this phone, at least this is some of the latest rumors on the matter suggested.

Another interesting rumor on the matter suggests that we might see T-Mobile making the smartphone available for pre-order a few weeks before the official launch, though is still remains to be seen whether this would pan out or not.

Until more on the T-Mobile G2's availability and pricing emerges, we should take a look at the available photos with the device, for it is one good looking fellow, you should agree.
