The first HSPA+ Android-based mobile phone to land on the US market, none other than the T-Mobile G2, has just made an appearance on its maker's website, the Taiwan-based HTC Corporation.

Not only that, but the handset's emergence on that website seems set to confirm the specifications list the new mobile phone is set to land on the market with, including the fact that it would run under Android 2.2 Froyo, though there was little doubt on this area, that's for sure.

“You want it, you got it. Introducing the next generation smartphone, the G2 by HTC,” the leading mobile phone maker notes on its website.

“With a powerhouse processor built for T-Mobile's fastest network, everything from launching apps to downloading video hits top speed,” the company continues.

Indeed, the new mobile phone comes with a powerful processor, namely a Qualcomm MSM 7230 chip running at 800 MHz, which is complemented by 512 MB of RAM and 4GB of ROM.

The T-Mobile G2 also sports a 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display that boasts a WVGA (480 x 800 pixel) resolution, along with a 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and flash.

“The HD camcorder captures more than video. It captures the experience. And now you can share it, in lifelike color and resolution,” the handset vendor states.

Support for GSM 850, 900, 1800, 1900MHz and UMTS networks is also there, as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity options, not to mention GPS/aGPS capabilities, HTC shows on its website.

On top of all that, the T-Mobile G2 also comes with a series of services powered by Google and supported by its Android 2.2 operating system.

“With Google Voice Actions, you can send a text, an email or a note to self, listen to music, make a call, go to a website, get to an address or scour the Internet with a few magic words,” says HTC.

The new mobile phone measures 119 x 60.4 x 14.16 mm and weighs in at 180 grams with battery pack. Additional info on it can be found on the company's website here.
