It seems that those that managed to pre-order T-Mobile's G2 Android smartphone can consider themselves lucky, as the carrier recently announced that the process of pre-ordering will be interrupted temporarily.

That means that you won't be able to pre-order the upcoming device any longer, until T-Mobile says so. According to the major carrier “due to overwhelming demand, we're no longer accepting pre-orders for the T-Mobile G2.”

Slated for a October 6th release, it seems that some of you that want the device badly will have to wait a little longer, or try to get it through other channels.

Further, T-Mobile operator also stated that customers that want the G2 will be able to buy it online or from your local T-Mobile store starting tomorrow, although there's no guarantee when they will ship the device or if it will still be available tomorrow.

As a side note, it appears that the G2 webpage where you could pre-order the device is no longer working, so those that didn't see the previous announcement where the carrier informed its customers about its inability to honor any G2 pre-order anymore, will probably don't know what happened.

It seems that the page has been temporarily disabled, until the carrier will be able to get more G2s in stock, but there's no telling when that will happen.

For those out of the loop, the G2 smartphone is powered a Qualcomm MSM 7230 800 MHz processor and runs Android 2.2 (Froyo) OS out-of-the-box.

The device comes with a 3.7-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors support (480x800 pixels resolution), QWERTY keyboard, accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, Swype text input, multi-touch input method, pptical trackpad.

Other key features of the Android smartphone include: HSDPA 14.4 Mbps, HSUPA 2 Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS with A-GPS support, 4 GB storage, 512 MB RAM, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 8GB card included), 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash.

Stay tuned for more information about the subject.

UPDATE - It seems that T-Mobile G2's webpage is now working again. Pre-orders are no longer available, instead you can already buy the Android smartphone.
