Wireless carrier T-Mobile USA announced a while ago the upcoming launch of its first Android-based mobile phone to pack HSPA+ connectivity options, the T-Mobile G2, but did not announce an official price tag for the device.

However, it seems that some info on the matter did emerge, though not from the carrier itself, but from one of its retail partners, RadioShack.

The company announced via its Twitter account that it plans on adding the new mobile phone to its offering, and that users should be able to purchase it for only $149.99 upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement.

The T-Mobile G2 with Google is coming to @RadioShack. Only $149.99 with 2-yr agreement (instant rebate!). Stay tuned for info,” is what the retailer announced.

While T-Mobile is still being mum on the price tag for the new mobile phone, rumor has it that it would ask $199 for it after a $50 or $100 mail-in-rebate and with the signing of a contract agreement.

Moreover, if there are some interested in purchasing the new device on an Even More Plus plan, they might have to pay around $500 for the T-Mobile G2, though confirmation on this still has to emerge.

The HSPA+ device is expected to become available for purchase on T-Mobile's airwaves sometime in Septemeber, the wireless carrier announced.

Those interested in securing one unit for the launch should head over to Best Buy for that, as the retailer made the T-Mobile G2 available for pre-order ever since September 10th.

In addition to the support for the enhanced connectivity on T-Mobile's network, the new device comes with a 3.7” S-TFT WVGA touchscreen display and a sliding QWERTY keyboard.

It also sports an 800MHz processor, as well as a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, auto focus and HD (720p) video recording.

The T-Mobile G2 runs under Google's Android 2.2 operating system and offer enhanced support for the Android Market and for various Google services available for mobile devices.
