Wireless carrier T-Mobile USA announced during the Consumer Electronics show in Las Vegas the upcoming availability of a new Android-based LG device on its airwaves, the G-Slate tablet PC, which has just got a possible price tag attached to it.

The tablet PC is listed as available for pre-order at $699.99, contract free, but no official info on when it might become available for purchase emerged for the time being.

Mobile City has put the tablet PC on pre-order on their website, suggesting that, while the official cost of the device would be of $799.99, they got it $100 less.

The new device arrives on the market with support for 3D technology, being the first tablet PC running under Android to feature it.

The price tag for this device seems to be in line with the cost of other similar tablets, including the Apple iPad and the Motorola XOOM, though there is no confirmation on whether the final price would be this one or another.

Moreover, some suggest that a Wi-Fi-only flavor of the device might also become available for purchase in the not too far future, though specific details on this are not available at the moment.

The new device arrives on shelves with a 8.9-inch touchscreen display, complemented by an NVIDIA Tegra 2 Dual-Core Processor clocked in at 1GHz, and 32GB of internal memory.

The specs list also shows dual 5-megapixel photo snappers on the back, with 3D video capture, and HD video recording capabilities.

Other features of the T-Mobile G-Slate would include 4G and Wi-Fi capabilities, front facing camera for video chat, GPS receiver, Bluetooth capabilities, and more.

The tablet runs under Google's Android 3.0 Honeycomb application processor, and offers support for Adobe FlashPlayer (the software will arrive at a later date).

“The G-Slate represents the next chapter in T-Mobile's rich history of Android innovation,” Brad Duea, senior vice president, marketing, T-Mobile USA, commented on the upcoming availability of this device.

“Tablets enable users to take with them the rich Web and entertainment experiences they have at home, and this will radically shift the way people interact with and consume content while mobile. The G-Slate delivers a powerful combination of premium mobile HD entertainment and T-Mobile's lightning-fast 4G mobile broadband network.”
