Wireless carrier T-Mobile is moving closer to the release of its first Android-based tablet PC that would offer support for its 4G network, the T-Mobile G-Slate from LG, which has just received the necessary FCC approvals.

The upcoming mobile device was announced officially last week during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, and should arrive on T-Mobile's shelves with Google's Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system on board.

When unveiling it, LG and T-Mobile announced officially that the device would arrive on the market in the coming months, but no specific release date was unveiled.

The fact that the tablet PC already received FCC clearance shows that the two companies are working on making it available for purchase as soon as possible.

Among the pieces of info on this device that emerged courtesy of FCC (via BGR), we can count the fact that the T-Mobile G-Slate would include 4G HSPA+ connectivity options, and that it would sport model number V900.

Android 3.0 is also known to be packed inside this device, along with all of the goodies that this OS flavor would bring to users, such as support for new services, and an enhanced experience on devices with larger screens.

“The Honeycomb user experience improves on Android favorites such as widgets, multi-tasking, browsing, notifications and customization,” the duo said when announcing the device.

“It will also feature the latest Google Mobile innovations including Google Maps 5.0 with 3D interaction, collection of more than 3 million eBooks and Google Talk with video and voice chat.”

The T-Mobile G-Slate should land on shelves as one of the first tablet PCs that would benefit from the features Android 3.0 Honeycomb was announced with.

Unfortunately, specific info on what the LG device packs inside in terms of hardware was not unveiled for the time being. LG and T-Mobile promised that more details on the G-Slate will become available as the device nears its availability date. You can have a better look at it in the videos embedded below.
