Yesterday, wireless carrier T-Mobile made the Apple iPhone 5 smartphone available for purchase on its network, and reported strong initial sales for the device.

The company said that people formed lines in front of its stores around the country to grab the new device, and that it was more than pleased with how things went in the first day of availability.

“Today has been gangbusters for T-Mobile. We experienced lines out the door this morning at nearly all of our almost 3,000 stores nationwide.” Chief Marketing Officer Mike Sievert stated, a recent article on AllThingsD reports.

The 16GB iPhone 5 is available at the carrier with a price tag of $99 (around 75 Euro) on a two-year contract, but also requires $20 per month payments for the length of the contract. The 32GB and 64GB flavors of the smartphone are available at $199 and $299, respectively.
