systemd, a system and service manager for Linux, compatible with SysV and LSB init scripts, that provides aggressive parallelization capabilities and uses socket and D-Bus activation for starting services, is now at version 204.

systemd 204 has been released with just a couple of changes, and there is nothing out of the ordinary. systemd has been adopted by a lot of distribution, including Fedora, Frugalware, Mageia, openSUSE, Arch Linux, Chakra Linux, Gentoo, and even Debian.

Highlights of systemd 204:

• The Python bindings have gained some minimal support for the APIs exposed by libsystemd-logind;
• ConditionSecurity= gained support for detecting SMACK. Since this condition already supports SELinux and AppArmor, only IMA is missed.

A detailed changelog of the new release is available in the mailing list.
