14 DAY TRIAL // François Dupoux had the pleasure of announcing on July 7 that a major release of his popular SystemRescueCd Linux operating system designed for rescue and recovery tasks has been made available for download.
SystemRescueCd 4.3.0 replaces the previous release, 4.2.0, and introduces several important fixes and improvements, which have been listed in the official release announcement.
The most important feature of this build is probably the brand new Gparted 0.19.0 partition editor software, which fixes random crashes and makes the partition information dialog visible on screens that use the 800x600 resolution.
Both Linux kernel packages have been updated in SystemRescueCd 4.3.0, the standard one to the Long-Term-Supported Linux kernel 3.10.45 and the alternative one to the stable Linux kernel 3.14.9, for both rescue32 and rescue64.
Among other important changes, we can mention that the TrueCrypt application has been removed because it is no longer secure to use, support for the Ruby language has been added, and the Btrfs utilities have been updated to version 3.14.1.
