François Dupoux proudly announced last evening, June 5, the immediate availability for download of the SystemRescueCd 3.7.0 Linux-based operating system, which can be used for rescue and recovery tasks.

SystemRescueCd 3.7.0 is now powered by the Linux kernel 3.4.47 Long-Term-Supported (LTS) packages (with rescuecd and rescue64), as the default one, and the latest and greatest Linux 3.9.4 kernel packages (with altker32 and altker64) as the alternative kernel.

Moreover, SystemRescueCd 3.7.0 comes with a downgraded GCC 4.4, in order to produce smaller binary file and save disk space.

This release also fixes a crash that occurred when booting from NBD (Network Block Device), and adds the SafeCopy application for recovery from damaged (io-errors) files or devices. For more details, please read the official release announcement.
