As usual, the distribution has new Linux kernel packages and updated applications

François Dupoux announced today, June 11th, a new release of his popular SystemRescueCd Linux-based operating system for rescue and recovery tasks.

SystemRescueCd 2.8.0 comes with important changes and improvements, such as:

· Updated the standard Linux kernel package to version 3.2.19 LTS (with rescuecd and rescue64); · Updated the alternative Linux kernel packages to version 3.4.2 (with altker32 and altker64); · The USB installer script for Linux has been fixed; · sys-apps/gptfdisk was updated to 0.8.5; · fsarchiver was updated to 0.6.15 to support recent features in btrfs/ext4 filesystems; · DBAN was updated to 2.2.6; · Grub2 bootloader was updated to 2.00 Beta 6 · The list of kernel modules to put in the initramfs has been updated.
