System Essentials has just received a new update on Windows 8 that adds support for Microsoft’s new 8.1 operating system and brings a number of important bug fixes.

The application packs the same rich feature package and continues to provide users with options to monitor network connections, view media devices, connect to FTP servers and check Microsoft account details, but starting with this version, it also packs personalization options for Windows 8.1.

Of course, the update is aimed at all Windows 8 and 8.1 versions, including the RT build designed to be installed on tablets, such as Microsoft’s own Surface.

“System Essentials is a comprehensive solution for your home and office. The system receives information about the hardware and software configuration of tablets, ultrabooks, notebooks, and desktop PCs. It provides data about all the sensors built into the device. It lets you obtain complete information about the current operating system,” the app description now states.
