Microsoft is gearing up to release the first Beta development milestone for System Center Orchestrator 2012.

According to Adam Hall, Senior Technical Product Manager, early adopters will be able to grab the System Center Orchestrator 2012 Beta bits and start testing the Build in the coming days.

Although a specific availability deadline has not been announced, the software giant promised to release System Center Orchestrator 2012 Beta by the end of this week.

“This week we will be releasing the System Center Orchestrator BETA! The team is locking down the build so keep an eye out for the announcement real soon,” Hall stated.

More importantly, early adopters have the chance to take testing to the next level, through the System Center Orchestrator 2012 Community Evaluation Program (CEP).

“And on Thursday we will start the Orchestrator Beta Evaluation Program so make sure you are signed up! This program will provide you with ready-made environments, a structured evaluation of Orchestrator and Lync calls with the Product Team every 2 weeks so you can provide your feedback, ask questions and even WIN STUFF,” Hall added.

Customers that have yet to sign up for the program need to head over to Microsoft Connect as soon as possible and do so.

CEP testing is offered not only for System Center Orchestrator 2012 Beta, but also for additional System Center 2012 components.

“The Community Evaluation Program from the Management and Security team at Microsoft provides IT professionals a structured approach to evaluating System Center and Forefront products before their final release. Members of this program are able to evaluate early versions of products with guidance from the product team and by sharing of experiences and best practices among a community of peers,” the Redmond company said.

A new component of System Center 2012, Orchestrator is the result of the company’s acquisition of Opalis and the transition of the codebase from the Opalis subsidiary to System Center.
