Early adopters playing around with System Center Operations Manager 2012 Beta will be able to take their testing to an entirely new level as of August 2011. Microsoft has provided a heads-up that it’s about to kick off the Community Evaluation Program (CEP) for Operations Manager 2012 Beta.

Adam Hall, Senior Technical Product Manager, System Center did not provide a specific deadline when he expects System Center Operations Manager 2012 Beta CEP to start, but the software giant has previously pointed to August as the month when the program is planned to go live.

“The CEP is designed to guide our customers and partners through an evaluation of the product and highlight key features and capabilities,” Hall stated.

“This is your chance to hear directly from the product group, be taken through a guided evaluation and be able to engage with us and provide your feedback.”

The beauty of the Community Evaluation Program is the fact that testers get not only guidance from Microsoft, but also the possibility to interact directly with members of the team building System Center, as well as with additional early adopters to share best practices.

Among the topics of System Center Operations Manager 2012 Beta CEP are deployment and upgrades, RMS removal, pooling, Configuration Service, visualization, performance and reliability, network monitoring and cross platform.

Early adopters testing the beta development milestone of System Center Operations Manager 2012 need to head over to Microsoft Connect and sign up for CEP.

“Once you have completed this short form, we are able to send you communications with further details on how to participate, including where the information will be posted, the Lync call details and so on. We realize that we have a global audience, so we will be recording all the calls so you can listen to them at a time that suits you,” Hall added.

“The Operations Manager 2012 Beta contains a huge amount of great new functionality, a lot of updates to reflect the feedback you have given us, and is a critical component of System Center 2012 and our Private and Public cloud constructs.”
