The official website of Turkey’s Prime Minister, basbakanlik.gov.tr, appears to have been breached by Anonymous Turkey and the Syrian Electronic Army in support of OpTurkey.

Anonymous Turkey has leaked a long list of usernames allegedly taken from the email domain of the Prime Minister’s website.

In a statement published after the breach, Anonymous Turkey representatives said they also gained access to phone numbers and user passwords, but they refused to publish the information because “Anonymous respects privacy” and it “does not believe in the full use of power against the weak.”

On the other hand, the Syrian Electronic Army doesn’t have that kind of principles. They leaked a file containing email addresses and the associated clear text passwords of all users.

Anonymous Turkey has taken the opportunity to send messages to various people and groups.

“You are beautiful and Anonymous loves you all. Anonymous never expected to see this day but Anonymous knows true heroes shine brightly in the darkest night. You are all true heroes, and you deserve the best,” the hacktivists wrote to the Gezi Park protesters.

The hackers have told Abdullah Gul, Turkey’s president, that based on the decisions he makes, he will be remembered as either one of the best or one of the worst presidents.

The message sent to Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan reads: “Anonymous is thankful to you for letting the Turkish people realize their full potential and leading them to this Turkish Summer.”

“Anonymous continues to watch the Gezi Resistance very closely. Anonymous will always look for Turkish people and all the citizens of the world who are sick and tired of oppression. One day freedom of speech will be like air and water and on that day Anonymous will suddenly cease to exist. Until that day, it is safe to expect Anonymous,” Anonymous Turkey concluded.
