SEA hackers have managed to break into another Microsoft social media account

After breaking into the Skype blog and the official social media accounts of the VoIP platform, the Syrian Electronic Army has managed to hack the official Microsoft News Twitter account.

While Microsoft has been quick to erase any signs of the attack, the hackers actually managed to post a few tweets from the official @MSFTnews account.

Just like the Skype hack, this new one is coming as a protest against Microsoft’s alleged involvement in NSA wiretapping programs, with the SEA recommending users to abandon Microsoft products such as Outlook.

“Don’t use Microsoft emails (Hotmail, Outlook). They are monitoring your accounts and selling the data to the governments,” one of the tweets read.

As mentioned, Microsoft quickly removed the posts, which means that it probably regained access to the account already, so we’re still expecting for an official word on this from the software giant.

Update: it appears that the hackers also broke into Microsoft's official blog.
