Twitter has once again started suspending the accounts of the Syrian Electronic Army. The move comes shortly after the pro-Assad hackers hijacked a Thomson Reuters Twitter account and the personal emails of three White House employees.
Initially, Twitter suspended the @Official_SEA12 account. Later, it was restored, only to be suspended once again.
From a new account, @Official_SEA14, the Syrian Electronic Army threatened Twitter and the company’s CEO, Dick Costolo.
“Dear @Twitter, If you suspend the #SEA account again, you will see the massive Twitter accounts hacks you ever see! cc @dickc,” the hackers wrote.
The warning was not taken seriously by Twitter and @Official_SEA14 was suspended.
Currently, the Syrian hackers are using @Official_SEA16. They’ve declared war on Twitter.
“So @Twitter did the @whitehouse gave you an order to suspend the #SEA account again? anyway.. the war is started :),” the hackers said.
This is not the first time when Twitter deletes the Syrian Electronic Army’s accounts. Back in April, several @Official_SEA handles were shut down following cyberattacks on some major media organizations.
