Yet another network-attached storage device has made its appearance, called DiskStation DX213 and developed by Synology and designed for business users.
Equipped with two drive bats, it can hold one or two SATA II HDDs in one of several RAID configurations.
That makes two units with transfer speeds of 3.0 Gbps each. Not exactly the cherry on the cake, considering the existence of SATA III (6.0 Gbps), but still decent.
Also, the product does have some perks, if minor ones. The Plug-n-use design, for instance, locks both ends of the cable connection (eSATA). Another feature is the Deep Sleep mode, which is activated when the NAS has been inactive for a certain period, saving power.
Unfortunately, the company didn't say what price the DX213 would sport, whenever it finally starts to sell.
