Fingerprint readers are the hot spot for technology makers these days, so companies are racing to implement it in their devices.

Synaptics, a developer of human interface solutions for mobile computing, is clearly following the trend and has just acquired finger print ID technology company, Validity Sensors for the impressive price of $92.5 / € 68.5 million, which will be paid in stock and cash.

Synaptics CEO Rock Bergman explained that the decision was made due to pressure coming from their most important costumers, some of which are the world’s top brand laptop vendors, asking to implement the steamy fingerprint ID verification tech.

“We needed to make sure we matched up with the right one. We are the No.1 suppliers of touch controllers for laptops and Validity is No. 1 in fingerprint ID.”

And since Synaptics is in charge of manufacturing most laptop trackpads nowadays, fingerprint ID tech could become a very common place feat, soon.
