Symbian Anna, the latest version of Nokia's current mobile operating system, is expected to arrive on some of the existing handsets as soon as July, the latest reports on the matter suggest.

A recent post on Nokia N8 France's Facebook page unveiled the said info, suggesting that, although things are not official as of yet, things might indeed prove this way.

The said Facebook page notes that, although nothing was announced officially on the matter, Nokia started testing the software, and might release it in July.

Moreover, the previously reported on special software update for Nokia N8's camera was mentioned as well.

All in all, only great news for Nokia N8 owners out there, as well as for those who purchased a Nokia C7, C6-01 or a Nokia E7 device from the company, though no specific info on when the software update might arrive on shelves emerged for the time being.

Moreover, it's uncertain whether the update will be released for Nokia users in other countries as well starting with July, through it most probably will.

Nokia is usually making updates available for its devices in phases and, although not all users taste new software at the same time, the enhancements arrive on all devices in a short period of time.

While there is no info available on the enhancements that this software update will bring forth, all of the features that Nokia announced for the new OS release should be included in the package.

Among these improvements, we can count redesigned icons, as well as a series of enhancements brought to usability, including split-screen view while typing.

Moreover, there will be a faster browser included with the update, along with virtual portrait QWERTY for fast typing, and a new flavor of Ovi Maps.

In addition to these, Nokia might also slip in a series of improvements specific to each Nokia device mentioned above, along with bug fixes and the like. Hopefully, an official announcement on this will emerge soon, so stay tuned.
